Snow Day

We had 4 inches of snow last night in Renton. I took off from work today. Darma seems really happy to have mommy and daddy home!



After we picked up our cars where we left off last night, we stopped at Fred Meyer to get some starter logs. It's going to get really cold for next couple days here in Seattle. Some are saying we are going to have record low since 1960s! I am a bit worried about the garden, but not much we can do. Probably we are going to shove irreplaceable plants into the greenhouse, but out in the garden, we just get what we get. During the Thanksgiving week last year, we recorded 14F in the garden and lost some big-leafed Rhododendrons. If it really get that low, we will lose more plants since things are already started to bud up. Feels like climate is changing dramatically year by year!

We have the fire going now in the apartment. Darma is chewing her bone. Wil's watching TV. I'm probably going to bake something this afternoon!
Hopefully road won't be too bad to go to work tomorrow morning!

昨日はレントンで１０ｃｍくらいの積雪がありました。今日は私もウィルも仕事を休んで、ダーマは幸せそう！

昨日の夜、坂を車で上れず、坂のふもとにおいてきた車を、今日ピックアップしてきました。幸い事故にもあってなく、ウィルの車は牽引されてたけれど、保険でカバーされるので良かった。車をピックアップした後は、スーパーに行って、暖炉用のログを購入。今夜からめっきり寒くなり、どうやら1960年代以降で最低気温の新記録をぬりかえるみたい。ガーデンが心配だけど、できることはあまりない。多分、明日は貴重な植物をグリーンハウスに入れて寒さから守るけど、ガーデンではそうもいかない。去年の感謝祭の週に最低気温が-10度まで下がって、いくつかのシャクナゲを失ったけど、今回もっと気温が下がれば、既に新芽が大きくなりつつある種を失うことに。年々、気候が狂いつつあるような気がするのは私だけ？

アパートでは暖炉に火を灯して暖かいです。ダーマは骨かじってて、ウィルはTV見てます。私は多分あとでクッキーでも作ろう！明日の朝、仕事に行くのに道がそんなに悪くないといいけど。
