Wrapping Up My First Quarter Of Graduate School

It is hard to believe my first quarter at SPU is almost done.  March 15th is my last day of class.  Tonight, I turn in my second ESL Reading plan and today I started writing my book review for the course.  Tomorrow, my Morphology group presents the language we created over the last few weeks.  Next week, I have a lecture for ESL Reading and get to sit and watch other Morphology presentations. I also get my take home finals next week to turn in on the 14th and 15th.  It is really hard to get used to this quarterly system coming from a university that used a semester system.  Things just come up so quickly, but I guess I will be happy to be done and have 6 of my 54 hours completed.

Keeping Warm By Baking

It is still cold here.  Atsuko and I have been keeping a fire going most of the day, and Atsuko also decided to bake.  It smells great.  More important, she finally made regular chocolate chip cookies.  I've been asking her to make them forever.  She always wants to make oatmeal or raspberry or some other type of cookie, but never plain chocolate chip.  I am very happy!

Snow Day

We had 4 inches of snow last night in Renton. I took off from work today. Darma seems really happy to have mommy and daddy home!

Car Update

Our Kia was towed before we were able to move it. Luckily, it was parked just down the hill from our insurance agent's office and we were able to go there and get help. They helped us find out where it went, and one of the agents was nice enough to give us a ride to Atsuko's car at Uwajimaya. The Kia wasn't harmed sitting on the road all night, and neither was Atsuko's Geo. We were lucky. I am crossing my fingers that this is the last of the snow we will get this winter.

It's Cold Outside

The official count for Renton was 3 and a half inches. Not as bad as it looked last night but bad enough to shut things down. I had to leave my car down the hill and walk to the apartment last night. I plan to go and check on it in a few hours. Hopefully, Atsuko can get her car up here. It's really cold out!

Darma's Day

Darma has been living with us for almost 8 months! I can't believe what our lives are like without her anymore. Even though she wakes us up at 5:30 every morning, , chews her squeaky toy non-stop, and doesn't get along with any other dogs, we love her very much.

Her day starts at 5:30 in the morning. She starts whining because (I think) she gets hungry. We manage to ignore her until 6:00am and I finally give up and get up. I feed her and take her for a quick walk. Usually, Wil takes her for a long walk before he goes to work.

Three More Weeks of Class This Quarter

As of today, I have three more weeks of class for the quarter. Time has gone by fast. Today is a free period so no actual Morphology class, just a group meeting. Then it's the 28th and 1st, the 7th and 8th, and finals on the 14th and 15th. In all honesty, the quarterly system goes by way to fast. But, if all goes well this will be 6 out of 54 credit hours completed.

Techno Wizardry and a Good Search Engine

After searching around, I discovered why I could not import things properly. Now all of our old posts are here to view. Hurray! You will notice that I am now the author of all of them, only because I published them to this page. Things seem to be looking better for the new home of our blog.

I will note that after the 27th of February, links to pictures will be broken. That is because our blogs are still linking to our old site for photos. We will work to fix this over time, but do not be surprised if pictures disappear from posts made before February 21st, 2011

From MyLastFantasy...

Atsuko and I will be blogging here from now on. I have tried to import our post from my old blog but it just doesn't look like that will happen. I plan to have Atsuko find some posts she would like to have moved manually and to show her how. On the right, we now have a video box as a direct link to our Youtube account. I am going to work on some other things as well.

Switching To Blogspot!

Atusko and I will be using Blogspot from now on. I am in the process of setting up a new blog at ourlastfantasy.blogspot.com. I will be importing post from this blog over to the other one and setting it up throughout the week.

Site Shutting Down

It is unfortunate that I have to say this, but our blog will be shutdown at the end of the month.  Atsuko and I do not have the money to continue paying for hosting and our web address.  If you would like, here is my Youtube page and we will continue to post on Facebook.

Cranberry Cookies

Yes, I am baking! I am making oatmeal cranberry white chocolate chunk cookies. It was a recipe on the package of the Ocean Spray Craisins. It turned out really good, but next time I make this I will use less sugar and butter. Here is the recipe!
